Pipeline Cathodic Protection (CP)
Cathodic Protection
Cathodic Protection (CP) is an electrochemical method of corrosion prevention, which can be applied to metallic infrastructure exposed to conductive environments (i.e. buried pipelines or storage tanks). The technique utilizes the circulation of a continuous current between an electrode (anode) placed in the environment (i.e. soil) and the metallic structure to be protected (cathode). This cathodic current lowers the electrochemical potential of the metal and therefore reduces its corrosion rate.
We provide:
Sacrificial Anode and Impressed Current systems design
Examination of the CP system effectiveness
Avoiding corrosion issues that may lead to leakages-spillages of fossil fuels
Extend asset service life by ensuring a suitable CP design
Maximize return-of-investment by selecting the optimum mitigation measures and devices
